by the material steel
Husemann & Hücking produces profile systems made of steel. Steel is a raw material that can be recycled again and again without any loss.
A decisive factor in our commitment to steel is the ability to return the material together with its by-products to the materials cycle without any loss. The recycling of steel scrap significantly reduces greenhouse gases such as CO2 and the mining of iron ore, so that resources can be saved. Even products that already were returned can be reused repeatedly and without any loss of quality. The reduction of primary raw materials also saves energy.
Other materials frequently used in the metalworking industry, such as aluminium for example, are less suitable for environmentally friendly recycling processes. Although most of the aluminium scrap can be reused after analysing its sorting purity, aluminium production always requires a significant amount of bauxite (aluminium ore), chemical additives and a lot of energy.
In addition, unlike steel production, the manufacture of aluminium also implicaates other environmental impact such as high electricity consumption and poorly degradable residues of heavy metal and caustic soda.
